Vivaldi’s Winter Musical Lesson, Activities & Worksheets


Antonio Vivaldi’s famous Winter Concerto from The Four Seasons was inspired by the cold winter season. The first movement of the Winter Concerto is the most famous – in fact, you’ve probably heard it and not even known it! A shortened version is played by Wednesday Addams in the new Netflix series Wednesday, there are fun electronic classical rock arrangements and even a fun musical mashup with Disney’s Frozen by the Piano Guys. This lesson is sure to be a hit with your students and perfect for the cold months of winter!

Lesson includes digital links to YouTube videos and free audio files. There are also several history activities, dance activities, language art / writing activities, and visual art activities to go along.

This is the perfect lesson and activity for older elementary school children and teachers. The the entire concerto is about 10 minutes long (the movements are 2-3 minutes each) and the lesson could take about 30 minutes. Depending on the activity or activities you choose they could take 15+ minutes to complete.
