Elementary Students Perform Original Play Celebrating 150 Year Anniversary of Golden Spike at Promontory
Posted on May 10, 2019
Fourth-grade students at Rosamond Elementary School have been studying the history of the Golden Spike at Promontory as part of their classroom curriculum and they performed what they have learned in an original play through song and dance. More than 100 students took the stage bringing the audience along on a journey through time. Their educational performance conveyed the significant historical impact of the Golden Spike and the “meeting of the rails,” marking the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad on May 10, 1869 in Utah.
The story was told through original song and dance written by a Rosamond Elementary School student’s grandparent, Stephanie Skolmoski.
Thank you to Ms. Skolmoski and everyone involved in this amazing musical.
Congratulations to the student performers who were exceptional!
Enjoy this original song from the show.
