Children of all ages (including adults) are fascinated with dinosaurs. As my little granddaughter is studying them, I have found that what I read to my children and learned with them isn’t current or correct today. For instance, a brontosaurus isn’t! The creature thought to be a brontosaurus is an apatosaurus. Paleontology is on ongoing science and new fossils are constantly being uncovered. What I thought was a flying dinosaur is now considered a flying lizard and had no feathers at all.
Amazing Dinosaurs by Dougal Dixon, has great pictures and short descriptions of dinosaurs that are easy to understand — even for grandmas! It was published in 2000 so the information is fairly recent. It is well categorized with good background. An excellent non-fiction for children!
