Black and Bittern Was Night
October 10, 2014
Children will love this Halloween tale! They will love the rhyme and rhythm and the nonsensical words. Robert Heidbreder uses creative words and sound that will hold any child’s attention as he paints with words a spooky Halloween night. The illustrations by John Martz are perfect for the story. You can almost hear and feel the rumble in the streets with Mugs against tykes as the “scare” war begins.
Delightful story but a word of warning: If you read it aloud – read it first to yourself so the nonsense words roll off you tongue!
